Description
CI Switzerland tackles underlying causes of poverty so that people can become self-sufficient. Recognizing that women and children suffer disproportionately from poverty, CI Switzerland places special emphasis on working with women to create permanent social change. We are looking for a motivated Food Project Manager to join our team.

Stationed in Kass, South Darfur, the Food Project Manager will report directly to the Program Manager based in Kass and closely work with all the relevant departments in the mission and the Sub-offices in addition to working with Food Program Manager for technical issues.

The incumbent will oversee the planning, implementation and monitoring of the WFP General Food Distribution (GFD) and School Feeding (SF) program. This includes staff development in order to effectively deliver the GFD and SF projects.

The incumbent will also ensure that appropriate systems are in place and continuously appraise and implement modifications to ensure effectives of the programme.

It is the responsibility of the Food Project Manager to ensure accuracy and timely submission of all reports.

The Food Project Manager is the point person for the WFP funded food Programme in the filed i.e. Kass.

The Food Project Manager will also participate in Field/Sub Office Management Programme and Administrative functions.


Principle Job Responsibilities:

•Oversee the programme implementation at the field
•Budget Management
•Supervise field staff and conduct performance management appraisal
•Administrative management of food programme support functions
•Consolidate and submit reports
•Representation of CIS Emergency Programmes at locality level
•Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Candidate
Required Qualifications:

•Bachelors in Social Science or equivalent to a recognized University Degree is a must and at least 5 years of food programming experience
•More than 5 years experience in relief operations and project support management is a must
•Experience in project management overseas
•Proven experience in emergency relief operations
•Proven capability to accept responsibility and able to work independently
•Computer literate and able to work with various packages; MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Access a must
•Good communication skills and public relations
•Understanding and respecting local culture

Desired Qualifications:

•Masters in Social Science and/or strong background in food programming in insecure environment
•Proven capabilities to write clear, logical and informative reports in English
•Proven team building and coordination skills
•Ability to speak Arabic
