About KAPA
The Kenyan American Professionals Association (KAPA) was formed in 2003 by a group of Kenyan professionals located in the New York tri-state area. KAPA has devoted significant time and resources to empowering Kenyans abroad by sharpening their professional talents, and ultimately redirecting such talent and resources back home to Kenya.
"Kenyans abroad are uniquely positioned to advance the role of Kenya in the global economy," writes Bram Ayoo. "Organisations such as KAPA have the advantage of a broad range of membership from individuals who live and work in of the heart of the global financial marketplace. Assisted by modern technology, KAPA members transfer their experience and technical know-how back to Kenya giving the country a comparative advantage.
The organisation does so by sponsoring professional seminars during which they invite experts to speak, by encouraging its members to invest in Kenya and through its philanthropic arm, KAPACares which gives directly back to deserving Kenyan situations."
KAPA comprises a ready-to-go team of technical experts who have proved their worth in the extremely competitive global employment market place. Distinguishing itself from previous bodies, KAPA operates on a simple foundation that provides a forum for like-minded, forward-looking Kenyans to meet and discuss career advancement opportunities and experiences and their transferability to Kenya.
Through its strategically selected partners such as CareerNation, an international human resources management-consulting firm focused on the African continent, KAPA links its members to potential career opportunities in Kenya through which it believes both its members and Kenya stand to gain. The group also organises and occasionally sponsors family and individual recreational and sporting activities that allow Kenyans to come together as a community during holidays and weekends.
